Child Voice Therapy
At the Healing Voice Center, we are experienced in seeing a wide range of vocal difficulties and breathing disorders in children. Children as young as three years old can benefit from voice therapy.
Step 1 – The Evaluation
The first step is to come in with your child
for an evaluation. At that time, the Speech Pathologist will assess your child’s voice and breathing, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs. The evaluation takes approximately 1 hour.
Step 2 – Therapy
Therapy sessions may begin after the evaluation. Therapy is individualized and will often include techniques to help improve breath support for speech, and exercises to heal the voice and improve vocal quality. Therapy sessions are 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the type of therapy recommended.
Problem areas that we treat with voice therapy:
Shallow breath support for speech
